On The Border Mexican Grill Cantina

Don't forget to bring your own salt shakers and be ready to request small portions of margarine! Our server seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere, but unfortunately, that didn't include refilling our drinks or salsa. It looked like the manager, who holds the keys to the napkin stash, was extremely busy too, as they were very protective of those napkins. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but the server just dropped it off and left without checking if we needed anything. I have to admit, the atmosphere was intriguing; my wife and I found ourselves amused by questions like, "Where did she go?" and "Did they close and forget to tell us?" In conclusion, if you enjoy spending quality time with your companions and prefer not to be interrupted by overly attentive servers asking, "Can I get you a refill?" this place is definitely for you.

I really liked the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. They have a lovely courtyard at the front. We tried the salsa and chips, which were great. The salsa has a nice little kick that builds gradually, but it doesn’t overshadow the flavor. The chips are crispy and there were plenty of them. I ordered a protein bowl, and it was delicious! Very flavorful and satisfying.

I absolutely loved my visit! With all their locations in Houston now closed, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this one during my trip to Tyler. I sat outside and enjoyed a refreshing watermelon margarita. The food arrived quickly and was just as delicious as I remembered. The chips were thin and crispy, and the salsa was really fresh. I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were incredibly good! It's a shame I have to drive all the way to Tyler for such great Tex-Mex. I really hope they think about reopening a location in Houston!
