Truly Canadian - Tweed

Highway in rural Ontario isn't exactly a culinary mecca and one doesn't normally sing the praises of a chip wagon (or, in this case, a chip bus). Located on just east of the intersection with highway near Tweed, the Truly Canadian Chip...Bus offers a surprising array of food choices beyond the usual sausages, hamburgers, chips and poutine one would normally expect. The hamburgers, by the way, are homemade and the chips are hand-cut. Fresh-baked pies are also on offer. We have a dog, a Labrador retriever, thus the picnic table seating is perfect.

We found this place last summer. The fries were decent and the burger after my companion was really good. The best part was the friendly owner and the delicious tasting pickles. If you're lucky, you might be able to purchase some homemade pickled vegetables.

Its average, service is friendly, great stop along hwy average chip truck fare and decent prices along with good portion sizes

Nothing extraordinary, but the fries were freshly cut and well cooked, pogos were perfectly cooked and the brownies we took for the road we fresh and tasty.
