Tall Boy's Restaurant - Tweed

On the road from Toronto to Ottawa, there is a small restaurant on the side of the road that may not look like much. However, do not hesitate to stop by, as the service is very friendly and the food is good and generously portioned (excellent fish and chips, tasty poutine, and delicious Apple pie). The prices are more than reasonable, making this place worth a stop.

My husband and I were biking along the E108 trail and decided to stop in Tweed for lunch. Tall Boys, just minutes from the trailhead, had a very inviting patio after our long ride. The service was excellent and the beer was served ice cold. Some local ladies had suggested we try the fish & chips, so that's what we ordered. It was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were very generous and I couldn't finish mine. We will definitely be stopping here again. (Plus, the bathrooms were spotless and they carry two of my favorite wines - another reason to come back!)

Yes looks do deceive. Place does look run down but our meal was excellent & reasonably priced. Would go again.

While traveling from Windsor to Ottawa, we made a stop at Tall Boy's in Tweed for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap and my sister had the Soup of the day with Fish and Chips. Both dishes were delicious, fresh, and very generous portions. We found it to be great value for the price and enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, which was a nice change from chain restaurants. The owner, known as "the Friendly Giant," personally greeted us and the staff were quick and friendly. Overall, Tall Boy's in Tweed is a fantastic little restaurant. PS: The Caesar salad was also amazing!

Many people will be put off by the location of the restaurant in the Tweedsmuir building, but once you get over that it is a meal to be enjoyed. The food was just fantastic. We were there for Easter dinner. I had the Ham special and my wife had the Turkey. Quantities were excellent and it tasted great. The server was attentive and helpful.
