Metro Diner - Tuscaloosa

I love Metro Diner; I'm not sure what happened today but our breakfast was terrible and our server pretty much nonexistent. Our pancakes were so tough you couldn't even cut them with a fork let alone a knife. They were very chewy, maybe over beaten batter or banked pancakes not sure. No we did not eat them they were terrible. The over easy eggs were over cooked. The hash browns were greasy and the home fries over cooked. The sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs were the only properly cooked items. Our server never came back to check on us until she dropped the check on the table. I really hope this was just an off day because I would really love to change my review.

Friendly service and good food. The Hawaiian Burger was a favorite and the strawberry butter typically served with the fried chicken.

Metro Diner is Tuscaloosa was awesome! I had the Shepherd?s Pie and it was the best I ever had. I will order it again. And, the chocolate cake was ?to die for!? That?s the top rating in my chocolate cake tasting scale! The chocolate cake alone is worth the trip! And, the slice is big enough to share, but only if you want to! That person has to be very special to get part of my chocolate cake from Metro Diner!!!

Been there a couple of times now and the food is always delicious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND Stephanie or Kaleefa for servers! You never have to wait for a drink or get your order wrong.

I had the philly cheese steak and my husband has a double classic cheeseburger. Amount wise, it was well worth it. Taste wise, something was missing. Both my husband and I agreed that for the price, we should have gone somewhere else. It wasnt that it was bad, but there won't be a repeat visit. We left full but disappointed. The atmosphere was pleasant- small town mom and pop feeling with big roomy booths. It was nice to sit and talk and not feel rushed out. The waitress was nice and checked up on us a few times. Personally it was just an okay experience.
