Cravings - Tuscaloosa

One word: WOW! I heard amazing things about the lobster roll, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The enormous pieces of REAL lobster were impressive—I just had to snap a picture! The lobster mac and cheese was packed with flavor and loaded with generous chunks of lobster (check out the picture below). With a friendly staff, a great atmosphere, and lightning-fast service, this is definitely a must-visit dining spot!

It truly pains me to write this review, as I have been a loyal customer for some time and have generally enjoyed my experiences here—until today (4/20/22). I stopped by for a quick breakfast sandwich before heading to class. While the woman preparing my sandwich was toasting my bagel, she placed the proteins (eggs, cheese, sausage) on a spatula, which she then set on a shelf above the ovens. There was no protection for the food from the shelf either. Right in front of me, she loaded the spatula with the proteins and placed it on a shelf that was likely very dirty. Meanwhile, the two customers in front of me, who ordered similar bagel sandwiches, had their proteins served on a paper plate. This is utterly unsanitary and likely a direct violation of health codes. Unfortunately, this experience has made me uncomfortable dining here, and I will be taking my business elsewhere unless changes are made. I apologize for my finger being in the frame of the photo; I had a brief moment to capture it for evidence. Typically, I don't make a fuss about food service, but this situation is truly unacceptable.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and I was quite concerned about the hygiene practices. The woman cooking was seen touching her pants and hair multiple times—around ten, in fact—without changing her gloves or washing her hands. I ended up buying four sandwiches, but unfortunately, I’ll have to throw them out. They clearly need to improve their understanding of basic kitchen cleanliness.

The lobster mac and cheese was also fantastic, filled with generous pieces of lobster (check out the picture below). The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the service is impressively fast. This place is definitely a must-visit for a great meal!

The best spot for breakfast on the strip! The bagels are fantastic, and sharing a Mimosa for two is the ideal way to kick off the weekend!
