China Cafe - Turlock

I ordered Chinese food for my family, but unfortunately we were all disappointed. The rice was plain and lacked flavor, the chow mein was hard and dry, and the chicken was overcooked and tasted like it had been sitting for too long. This restaurant used to serve great Chinese food years ago, but our recent experience was the worst we've had. It's clear that they need to hire a better cook or retrain their current one. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but it's important for our community to know so we can support higher quality Chinese restaurants with our money.

The food is great but you have to get to the garlic chicken and the sweet and sour pork before it cools off too much.Sweet and sour pork dries out.I love the garlic chicken but once it cools off too much it gets hard to eat.Don't get me wrong. It's great. Just saying

Food overcooked, don't waste your money. Better places out there.

I had broccoli beef, fried rice, chow mein, and an ice water at this restaurant; it was delicious. The service was fast. Normally, there is chili oil on the table but you have to ask for it and they only give you a small plastic container. I would have asked for more.
