We needed a pet friendly overnight stop on the road trip to Wellington. Super helpful when our departure was delayed and we were arriving quite late. The room was cosy and warm on arrival. Very comfy beds, lots of hot water, a good shower. Exactly what you need after a long day of packing up a house to move followed by a long drive. Service: 5

Delicious meals however the service was disappointing. It was freezing inside the restaurant, we would've LOVED it if the fireplaces were going. Service: 2 Location: 3

Great location, NOT disability friendly (which was a question we asked while booking), 7 stairs to climb and NO ramps!! NO door to the bathroom (just to the toilet& shower), the security light shines in all night! Good bed, microwave and small oven.

Rat droppings were found in the stainless steel pot in his kitchen, the cups were dirty and full of yellow scale, and the knives, forks and spoons felt greasy and seemed to have not been washed. There were unwiped crumbs on the lower floor of the oven, the kettle was full of water droplets, there was an unpleasant smell in the bedroom, used tissues and poker cards were found under the bed, and there were oil stains on the sofa and floor. The only advantage is that the room is relatively spacious. This is the most hygienic motel I have stayed in New Zealand for more than 20 years, and I found that many customers also complained about the hygienic conditions of this motel. It is strongly recommended that the owner and staff need to be retrained, inspect and improve the hygiene indicators in all aspects of the hotel. Noteworthy details: The health situation is worrying
