We discovered Papa Rey’s our last night in Tulum and our experience was life changing. The space is shrouded with sweet and fragrant smoke. I had the best octopus of my life, still think about it on the regular. I wish we could have gone back a second time. The owner took his time to explain everything the food, the mezcal, the history. We bought a bottle to bring home and on special occasions we pull it out and reminisce about the smell of the smoke, the charred chili oil, the most wonderful host and a truly unique and amazing experience.
