Vezi toate recenziile.
This is not your typical Mexican restaurant, and the (fully functioning and regularly used) wrestling ring in the corner of the restaurant is your first clue that Elote has a unique character. If you're looking for your regular Dinner Special #1, look elsewhere. Practically everything we had had a unique flavor to it. The puffy tacos are definitely their feature item, and they don't disappoint. The queso dip is different, made with cream cheese, and may not appeal to everyone, but I found delicious. I don't know why, considering it's their name, but I was surprised at how good the Elote (grilled corn) with its creamy sauce was. Even the black beans had a unique flavor to them. They try to locally source ingredients, and definitely stand out with their menu choices. It's a boisterous atmosphere that's a lot of fun, I'll be back!
If you’re looking for free range dining options in the Tulsa area (which I love that they offer free range meats!), as well as delicious vegetarian dishes, then downtown’s Elote Mexican restaurant is not to be missed! No, this is not your average Mexican fare, but they do have some amazing dishes, like the puffy tacos, with a crisp but fluffy shell cooked to perfection and flavorful ingredients inside. If you're looking for interesting starters, the queso has a hint of cream cheese, making it surprisingly tasty and light. tastytulsa.net
I heard so many positive things about this place so my boyfriend and I were pretty excited to try it out, but we were super disappointed. It's so worn down and outdated to the point where it looks dirty. The place is staffed with and overrun with annoying teenagers who think it's okay to be loud, obnoxious, and joke with each other around customers. The hostess continually ran around the restaurant practically yelling at her coworkers thinking she was being funny. The food was okay. The white queso is not queso...it's melted cream cheese. Chicken burrito flavor was good (I did not have onions or tomatoes), but the rice was bland and the sweet potatoes were soggy. The only reason I gave it a 2 was because our waitress was one of the few employees who wasn't participating in the shenanigans of her coworkers and she was very sweet and attentive.
If you're looking for a more healthier/vegan/organic/free-range/grass fed Mexican style, this is your best place to go. It's not my preference but the food is definitely high quality. The puffy tacos are excellent and the black bean hummus is great. My kids love the luchador wrestling
I have no idea why this place has such great reviews. One weekend a group of us went out to eat and my friends entrusted me to find a new good spot. Relying on these reviews.. I FAILED them. Idk how this is Mexican food at all really. Funky menu items, most involving sweet potatoes. Hipster/vegan like environment... So if you're into that it might be good, I was just expecting good ole Mexican food and this place has nothing like it.
