The staff at Balcone Italiano went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. It was my mother's 80th birthday and after a disappointing experience at another restaurant, we were welcomed with open arms. Despite being fully booked, the kind woman and the rest of the staff, along with the talented chef, worked hard to accommodate us. The food was delicious and we felt like royalty. Thank you for a fantastic dining experience. We highly recommend Balcone Italiano.

This restaurant is best suited for those who enjoy mediocre food. The pizzas lack authenticity, and the chicken was tough to chew. Combining BBQ sauce, red onion, and pineapple on a pizza is simply embarrassing. The topping combinations for the pizzas were not great overall. The dough was average and lacked airiness, resulting in a crust that was the opposite of nice. However, the restaurant does serve good coffee and the waitstaff is polite and friendly.

Once again, we received chewy chicken at this restaurant. This also happened on our previous visit, but we hoped it was just a one-time occurrence. After reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common issue. It's just chicken - how can they keep getting it wrong? Both of our dishes had the same problem, so it wasn't just a one-off. How is it possible to mess up simple chicken and pasta? It appears that this is a recurring issue based on the other reviews.

Staff were nice. No atmosphere but we were between sittings so that was to be expected. Menu was very limited but that may have been due to communion in the town earlier that day. Brie was nice for starter. Limited pizza menu and pepperoni was fine but nothing special. Like you would expect from bar food. Penne pollo wasn’t great chicken chewy. Kids portions small but they did give extra pasta when kids were hungry. Only dessert choice for kids was icecream and it tasted weird. Lots of better places to go in Tullamore.

I was here with friends for a birthday and ordered a gluten free carbonara. They told me the food was gluten free upon arrival but I am unsure if it was. I had a terrible reaction to the food and it was the reaction that happens when I eat gluten. Was here several times before and ordered pizza and chicken and I never had a reaction. Very poor experience and I will not be back unfortunately which is a pity.
