Celebrated my birthday here a couple.of days ago. The place looks good. Interior was nice and clean and the servers were friendly and cordial, not to say, good looking. The problem that I have is their prices and serving size. Food is too expensive to be honest especially that it doesn't even taste that great and their service sizes are too small. We ordered the breaded kangkong and the breadung is too thick and clumpy. All you taste is the breading to be honest. Then we had their Bicol Express which didn't taste like Bicol Express at all. It's lacking some spicyness to it and there's too little pork and too much string beans on the dish. We also ordered their crispy pasta and bulalo and they're okay taste-wise but not worth it when it comes to price. Anyway, if you are looking for a place.to celebrate special occasions and you are not tight on the budget, then Kuya J is a decent place to go to. But if you have a tight budget, you're better off some place else.
Interior is good and there is good lighting. But the floor was messy under the tables (check photos). The service was slow. It took 15 minutes to take our order and another 30 minutes for the food to make it on our table, even though there were only a few people inside. The halo-halo was not even available. The food is just okay but not worth it. I suggest you go to Cabalen instead of Kuya J's.
I bet the food was good maybe bcoz i was so hungry. the service was super slow. you can take a nap then woke up, and the waiters didn’t even take you orders yet. if you’re starving take kuya j off your list. not worth the wait.
The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful. The service is excellent, making it a perfect place for everyone.
