Weinstube Forelle - Tübingen

Great food and wine offered in traditional German style restaruant. High quality and knowledgable staff.

Tubingen is only an hours train journey from Stuttgart and well worth the trip. It is a beautiful town and fantastic opportunity for taking photographs. We came across this restaurant as we were walking around the toen. It is so beautiful inside. We arrived at 12noon and were the first people in the restaurant but by 12.20 it was full of locals. The service, food and wine were amazing. One of the best meals I have had. Vegetarian choice was really good as was the other dishes. Beautiful local wine. Really worth a trip to see the town and a must for lunch.

Well named, this lovely restaurant featured perhaps the best trout we have ever had plus delightful local and regional wines by the glass. The service was impeccable and very friendly, and in English! Just a block up from the Marktplatz and a couple of blocks below the Schloss, Weinstube Forelle is in the middle of the old town. Highly recommended.

You should not go to Weinstube Forelle if you are in a hurry, but our party of four was very happy with our meals. The other couple had been there before and wanted to return. The name is appropriate - both the wine list and the trout (Forelle in German) are excellent. The servers were friendly and attentive, but the kitchen does take its time. We all though it was worth waiting for.

Excellent food, definitely above average! The historical interior is very nice as well (as long as you stay downstairs a bit boring/uninspired decor upstairs). Service is impeccable. I highly recommend this place
