Bootshaus am Neckar - Tübingen

Meeting had the dinner here with approx 200 people. Plenty of beer & wine without early closing of bar, food buffet style and plenty to eat, good job for such a large crowd, well done

We had lunch in the biergarten at the Casino am Neckar. Located at the point of the peninsula where the river Steinlach joins the Neckar, with a view on punters enjoying the summer sunshine on the river, and in the shade of high trees, this is a gem of a place. The food was simple and so was the service, but everything in the proper style of a working biergarten. It was a great start of my working visit to this beautiful medieval university city. Will go back!

We were group and we were quickly served with drinks. They have good choice of bier. Menu is short but good everyone found something favorite. I took steak done according my wish- medium rare. Nice. Sittin in the garden is very pleasant.

I must say that Casino is one of the places in which I could eat best in the city. For one reason or the other, I was always invited by friends or in conference dinners here. Thus, I cannot say how much it costs.However, the quality of the cuisine reaches a high standard. One can eat both typical or international dishes here.

This restaurant has a lot going for it. However, it does not live up to its potential. In particular the food needs to be improved for it to achieve its full potential.
