Contribuiți la feedbackTohono Chul is already a great place and Glowing Pumpkins is the perfect event for it. We had a wonderful time walking the path surrounded by music and decorations. The giant calaveras were the best. It was like a Disney ride without the lines or machines or being crammed into a car with a bunch of other people. Just a beautiful walk under moonlight.I hope they continue to have this event at Tohono Chul. An employee told me they had Glowing Pumpkins at a mall last year. I wouldn't have gone to this at a mall.
Kinda quaint we did not eat at the Bistro, it was a nice space both in, and outdoor seating. The green house is pretty impressive, not big, but well organized. The plants were priced to sell. The lady at the ticket booth was accommodating. There is a child’s museum but it was outside and it was hot. We didn’t feel like sweating. They had pumpkin displays all overCute place, maybe on a cooler day we will return.
We were looking for a place to eat in the area (after visiting the children's museum), and found that the bistro had good reviews. The food took a while to come out, so my little one got antsy. I ended up having to take him out of the main entrance to run around a bit until food arrived. I ordered the quesadilla and though it had great flavor, it was a bit salty for me. However, the three other meals we ordered were delicious. Would definitely go back to try more on the menu. Oh and our waitress was great. She was lovely!
Yesterday my mom and I went to eat breakfast here but inspite of the website saying they opened at 8am there was no one around. We waited 15 minutes and then talked to the lady at the gardens entrance and she wasn't sure about what time they opened. It is rather frustrating since we drive 40 minutes to find that they weren't open even through the website claimed they were. We have one of the more expensive memberships to Tohono Chul but I was informed by an employee that they are run separately. Their loss. We will not both to return to eat there again.
I attended Bloom Night for the Queen of the Night for my first time visiting. A monsoon swept through, and a Tarantula Hawk claimed a Tarantula, all set to the native american flute and drum music of Celia and Michael Jose, who were situated near a prominent bloom on the path. The grounds are beautiful and appointed with many amazing plant varieties showcasing the Beauty of the Sonoran Desert.
