Contribuiți la feedbackThe drinks are expertly made by Melissa, Liz, and Richard. The food is amazing, starting with Jarumi, Tania, and the boss Donat Rosi. They come through on Friday and Saturday nights for karaoke.
Guacamole had cucumber flavor that made it taste fresh. Food was decent, one employee on shift but she did great.
The first thing I want to say is that I love this place. It has a real neighborhood Mexican bar vibe. Mexican love songs playing on the juke box. The fanciest beer on tap is Dos Equis. But then I order the Chicken Chimichanga. I've only lived in Tucson for 4 months so I'm not an expert on Chimichanga's. So I had to look it up. The filling isn't supposed to be only chicken. The filling was a mass of canned chicken. I didn't taste any spices or cheese. It was a large amount of chicken. All of the spices and cheese were on the outside. It did taste good if you move your chicken around all the sauces in the plate. So my only criticism is that it's not authentic. Based on my internet search. Whatever that's worth.
I had a great experience at this restaurant on Friday, thanks to Jesse, Pink, and all the wonderful bartenders they have.
The Iguana Cafe is a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal, whether it's for lunch or dinner. They offer cold drinks, great music, and even karaoke. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, with generous portions. The restaurant is not very crowded, and the service is top-notch. It is conveniently located across from the Ronstadt bus station on Congress. Even though I don't drink personally, they have a good selection of beverages. If you are in downtown Tucson and craving flavorful Mexican food with a beer or soft drink, the Iguana Cafe is a must-visit among all the restaurants downtown.
