Contribuiți la feedbackOn the downside, my wife's fish was rubbery and overcooked. I ordered a filet cooked medium, but it came out more on the medium-well side and was quite dry. I also ordered an Aperol Spritz, but to my dismay, what arrived was some strange pink concoction that was a huge insult to Italians. It was terrible—served in the wrong glass, with the wrong wine, and no orange or Aperol in sight. For dessert, I ordered a crème brûlée with strawberry, as stated on the menu, but it actually came out with blueberries, which was misleading. Normally, I wouldn't complain, but this experience would have been a one-star review if not for the waitress, who truly did her best.
This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a negative review. I usually hold back my critiques, knowing how challenging the restaurant industry can be, and even now I feel hesitant to share this experience. However, for a restaurant that claims to be fine dining, this situation was simply unacceptable. On my way out, I shared my experience with two other couples. To be fair, the plate presentation was lovely, and everything smelled wonderful.
I suspect this restaurant is called "Gold" because you would need to have experienced the golden age to appreciate it. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because the staff genuinely tried to cover up the disappointments we faced. From the outset, the restaurant was almost empty, with only seven tables occupied. We waited 20 minutes before we even received our first drink. Although the dress code claimed to be business casual for Christmas Eve dinner, the entire wait staff was dressed in jeans. The wines were served so cold they tasted as though they had just come out of the refrigerator. The food was mediocre at best—everything had a pre-made appearance. The shrimp was overcooked, the swordfish was dry, and I received a filet cooked medium-well instead of the medium-rare I ordered. The decor felt cheap and outdated, and the smells emanating from the dank and bare room were akin to those of a roadside diner. I won’t be giving this place another chance; it simply wasn’t worth the $266 we spent for two meals.
Normally love breakfast here. We were staying at the hotel so was convenient. We've had dinner there in the past and was good. This time disappointed with the selection and price. Service was slow even though there were very few patrons. Breakfast is fineand the view is pretty. But i would not go back for dinner.
We had a wonderful, peaceful dinner! The wine was reasonably priced and the selection was excellent. Brooke provided impeccable service!
