The food at this restaurant was outstanding - both in taste and presentation. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us feel very welcome and at ease. It was clear that they knew everything there was to know about the food they were serving. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.
We had noticed the Inn several times and it appeared to be a beautiful establishment. Since it was our final night in Cornwall, we decided to have a meal there. I booked a table easily on an app, and upon arrival, we were seated at a lovely corner table with freshly plumped pillows! The menu choices were excellent, I opted for the Ham Hock Terrine as a starter and the Norway Burger for my main course. My wife initially chose the soup, but when the menu changed, it was no longer available. The restaurant manager, who was very attentive and well-organized, quickly arranged for a replacement in the form of a Scotch Egg starter. My wife had the Fishcakes instead. I was fortunate enough to taste both dishes and they were just as delicious as my own choices. The beer, from the St Austell Brewery Pub, was exceptional! For dessert, I had a cheese board featuring Cornish cheeses, while my wife enjoyed the Sticky Toffee pudding which she said was amazing. It was the perfect way to end our vacation, and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Both my husband and I wanted to eat here and as we were down there, we booked a table. The staff was welcoming, the table was badly illuminated, it was difficult to read the menu. We chose our food and didn't have to wait long for our appetizers, I chose the goan mussels that were great, my men terrine was fine, but no bread served with it. The main thing was not as good as the appetizers, I chose the maple roasted squash pasta, the eingrediants seemed well cooked, although I wondered whether the squash at all roasted or simply boiled and added to the pasta, the overall dish was also added to salt, pepper and parmesan. I said I chose the wrong main choice. My husband Burger was also dry and tasteless, which for him as Burger disapointing are widely used as house speciality.(though he ate it all) The homemade chips were excellent. The contempt of the Pasta bowl was passed on to the staff because I did not eat much of it and they were very apologetic and wanted to put the situation right, they offered me something else to cook and a refund on the plate was agreed. Customer service and the desire that their patrons radiate the experience of the pub very clearly.
We chose the Norway because we 've had meals there before and the food never disappoints. The serving staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. my family were down from 'up country ' and have stayed in the hotel before so knew that it was good.
