El Chileno - Trujillo

Not even worth a star. Extremely rude employee who seemed alarmed that my big family and I came to their ice cream shop. She didn't allow us to look at her dessert options and demanded that we all pay for our ice cream before we decide... what we want, and even tried to say that we didn't pay for all our ice creams after she served us. My husband wanted to buy ice cream for two girls by selling candy, and the woman was very hesitant to sell the kids ice cream after she tried to throw the girls out! She even accused him for two pots, but would not give the girl more than one. She didn't let her take care of, even though we didn't take care of the price. He still bought the ice cream for the girls, but we were too upset to eat our own because of their disgusting behavior. We gave the evil lady our bad ice cream and left. We will never go back and tell everyone in Trujillo that we will not buy from this business either.

Probably one of the worst services I experienced during my trip in Peru. During the visit of the family in Trujillo, Peru, 19/07/2021 (about 4 a.m.) we wandered through la plaza de armas when we found this small ice cream shop “El Chileno”. The 12 of...ours were automatically hired by the employee who worked in the store. Without giving us a chance, through the menu or one of the different options of the flavors they offer, they immediately wanted to pay us all first. That's good, but she was very rude about it!! How will we accept paying for something if we didn't even get the chance to see what they offer? When we thought our experience could not have been worse, two young girls (4-5 years old) who passed through the sale of candy, approached me asking if I could buy them some ice cream. When I took her to the counter, the rude lady automatically assumes that they bothered me and tried to kick her out! I told her what it does when it's MY MONEY that I spend to buy her two little girls ice cream! One of them even wanted wrinkles, and she refused to give them any! I was shocked how she treated us all. My wife and family were all disgusting with the attitude and service of the employees that we all leave and leave our ice creams. I never come back to this place. It's disgusting how to treat people like that. Peor servicio!!!

Looks like an ice cream shop from the outside, but they have a complete menu and many vegetarian options!

A staple in Trujillo. Generations have enjoyed the artisan ice cream made at El Chileno. My ultimate favorite is the lucuma ice cream. All flavors were delicious! Multiple locations as well!

They have tons of flavors here and will even let you sample them to find the ones you like the most. I love getting 2 scoops and combining flavors.
