Contribuiți la feedbackThe food was good, but very meat heavy, which I know would be a plus for most people, but not for me. Didn't notice any vegetarian options, but could have missed it. The atmosphere was nice. The staff was friendly.Update: We went here again and I found the vegetarian dishes on the back of the menu. The portions were very generous, but this time the service wasn't very good.
I had a California burrito. It had steak, beans , peppers and onions. It was great . But the homemade salsa is the best in town
Trojan's does not quite fit with the other Mexican restaurants in the Southeastern US, from the gringa hostess and servers to the bible quotes and lack of a tortilla steamer, but the salsa is good not too sweet, spicy, nor garlicky the chips were light and fresh, and the lunch menu was impressively large. The burritos are a bit odd due to the missing tortilla steamer: instead of being stretched to enclose the filling they are just rolled, with open ends, and served with enchilada sauce, which was odd. But they were also huge, with good filling, so I can forgive the ends having a bit of dry tortilla. The tres leches was good as was the lunch portion of the chicken fajitas. I would return, especially at lunchtime. We first tried to go to Valencia's but it was packed and looked like it might be a bit depressing inside (judging a book by its cover, I admit).
Great food, decent prices. Willing to alter dishes to suit customer wishes.
We eat at Trojan's Mexican Grill virtually every Sunday afternoon. Miss Toni and her staff (comprised of mostly her husband the chef and their children the wait-staff) do an outstanding job. The best Mexican restaurant in the area, in my opinion.
