Pizzeria La Boheme - TROPEA

We have a delicious code here. the service was good at the atmosphere. it was a bit too cold, we sat outside, so we sat alone.

La boheme was recommended to us by a native. we were not condemned. eating was fantastic. the owners are proud to host this restaurant. we had great service and delicious food. we liked mainly the polpo (Octopus salad with kartoffeln and the mixed seafood with pasta! the location is located in a beautiful place next to the dom and the bell tower.

I have travelled to Tropea from Australia over 20 times nearly 40 years and I have eaten here many times and it has always been great. This time was very disappointing. The food was not up to standard-, maybe new owners??? Calamari was tough, pizza...had bitter tomato sugo, no service , we struggled to get hold of a waiter for drinks. The seven of us just had water as we couldn’t get anyone to take our order. The food came out haphazard, half of us had food and had eaten all of it before the other meals even came out So long that three members left.and went window shopping while the others still waited for their meals . Such a shame . My vongole pasta was tasty but that’s it , guess it was my lucky day.

The starter of meat and cheese was delicious. mixed grill of local seasonal fishing was not fresh. it was like they were heated up from frozen. we enjoyed the ambiente; being in the center of the historic old town was great under candlelight. Fresh...fish in tropea is however a must to be so close to the sea.

Highly recommend going for dinner here. Very atmospheric, delicious food and friendly team make this a wonderful experience. We went as a family with children, but equally a place to go for a special occasion!
