Locanda Di Levante - TRICASE

We stumbled upon this little square in Tricase where the restaurant was situated. We didn’t make a reservation but they quickly put together some tables so we could enjoy our meal there. Very friendly staff with ample command of the English language. The food was also on par and not a bad sound to be heard around the table.

Pleasant surprise! Situated in a small town background, food and services are no non-sense world-class. Especially, lasagna is a specialty beyond imagination.

Although our first contact was not great we gave them one more chance and thankfully we were rewarded! We send a message by what’s up to book a table and did not get a reply back. When we arrived there they said they had responded but clearly they had not. We decided to book a table for another night. It was Saturday and it was a busy but also beautiful night to seat in the lovely terrace. The menu is small but the food is really good. It was quite slow but it was lovely being outside and we did not mind. Overall a beautiful restaurant with good food and wine.

We had an amazing experience! Each of the dishes the 5 of us took was exquisite! The local fish dish is very recommended The place is lovely, highly recommended experience!

Although being one of the most beautiful settings in the region, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Yes it is a very beautiful restaurant with nice decoration on a cosy little square, perfect for some Instagram pictures. However the food and service were way below expectations. We had 2 pasta dishes, whereby the local pasta with tuna was the worst. The tuna did not taste fresh, had a bad taste and the sauce had no flavour. Also the flavour of the other seafood pasta was way below expectations. After informing the staff about the bad taste of the tuna we did not receive any feedback or apologies. The staff just cleaned up the table without saying anything. Puglia has so many nice restaurants with good and authentic food, this restaurant is unfortunately not on my list anymore.
