Although it is such a beautiful and well-established place, the behavior of the cafe staff is far from being professional. I recommend you to find a better place in Triberg where you can have a good time with your family, more respectful to tourists. Service: 1

My father and I visited this café for a coffee, and I came in with a big smile, hoping for a pleasant experience. I tried to talk to the woman behind the glass where the cakes are displayed (whom I’m assuming is the owner of the place with her husband), but my smile was instantly wiped out when she made a terrible face, furrowing her brows. When I politely asked if we could sit and then order, she started walking away and answered me while leaving, which felt incredibly rude. I decided to try their Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, as the place claims to be famous for it, and I also had a black tea. The woman who served us afterward was really nice, and her friendly service definitely stood out. However, the unpleasant welcome from the woman behind the bar left a bad impression. As for the cake, it was edible but not great. Unfortunately, both my father and I had trouble digesting it. My father suffered from acid reflux for the entire evening after having just a few bites, and while my symptoms were less severe, I also felt uncomfortable. This has never happened to us before in Germany, so it was quite surprising. On a positive note, the café itself is very clean, and the view is wonderful. I want to give a big thanks to the lady who served us, as she made up for the unpleasant welcome and our disappointment with the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.

Great location! Stayed as a family of 4 in 1 room. A little tight but overall great stay. The staff (family) is very nice and accommodating! The gartenlokal is very quaint. Service: 5

Unfreundlicher Empfang, so etwas habe ich noch nie erlebt. Ein privates Telefonat musste beendet werden. Die Dame am Empfang war bei der Post. Währenddessen sollte ich auf dem Stuhl Platz nehmen und warten, wie lange es dauert, wüsste man nicht. Also beschloss ich, mit meinem Hund eine Runde spazieren zu gehen. Dann kam die Dame des Hauses. Ein freundliches „Guten Tag“ gab es nicht! Stattdessen wurde ich sofort gefragt, ob der Hund wirklich ruhig sei, man hätte ja immer Ärger mit Hundebesitzern. Mein Vater durfte mir beim Gepäck nicht helfen. Fremde im Haus, das gäbe nur Ärger, sie hätte schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht und sie hätte das Hausrecht, dies zu bestimmen. Hilfe wurde mir nicht angeboten. Ich solle mich beim Parkplatz anstrengen, alles einzuhalten, das ginge wohl auch in die Hose. Und so weiter. Der Originalwortlaut der Chefin im Café-Raum war, sie hätte bemerkt, dass ich wohl „angepisst“ sei, weil mein Vater mir nicht helfen durfte. Wie unerwünscht und uneinladend. So gewinnt man keine Kunden. Ich hätte auf all die vielen Rezensionen im Internet hören sollen! Schade, dass ich mir selbst davon überzeugen musste… Wie traurig das alles ist.
