Grand Traverse Pie Company

After venturing out again post-COVID, I was excited to return. During our visit on November 3, 2023, however, I was disappointed. The senior coffee served was lukewarm and a day old, and they had run out of maple rolls. The cinnamon roll I received was small, cold, and hard, so I had to soak it in my cool coffee to make it somewhat palatable. I'll definitely make it a point to check if the coffee is fresh and if the treats are available before ordering next month. The lack of inquiry about warming my roll was a letdown too. There was a line, so I didn’t provide immediate feedback, but I’ll take responsibility for being proactive about the service in the future.

This is my favorite spot for lunch. They have fantastic soups, sandwiches, and salads. Be sure to try the pie! I wanted to share an update on one of the salads the pie company is offering. The Fall Butternut Squash salad sounds delicious, but there's far too much kale in it. It's like trying to chew paper! It would be much better if it included a mix of other lettuces and less kale. Additionally, it could use more quinoa and squash. The dressing is tasty, but it’s thicker like a paste rather than a traditional dressing. This salad has all the makings of a great autumn dish, but it definitely needs some adjustments. I also had the cherry pie again, and it was good—though it could benefit from a bit more sweetness. Overall, it’s enjoyable!

If there's one restaurant you must visit in Traverse City, it's this one! Every single dish my fiancé and I tried was outstanding, and we couldn't stop talking about how fantastic everything was. I had the best sandwich I've ever tasted in my life, and it truly was a highlight of our entire trip!

Wonderful pies, quick service, homemade everything! The chicken pot pie is to die for and don't ever forget dessert!
