La Porchetta - Traralgon

Seems like an ok option for familiea, but with so many good options for Italian in Australia, why go to a chain? Sorry! Go for a smaller place like Constancia around the corner? Bottom line is... This place is.ok. Ok pasta. Ok pizza. Average salads.

We've had bad experiences here but it's been years so thought we'd give it a go. The service was excellent & quick. Mind you, there were only 3 other tables with customers. It's a huge restaurant & ideal for large groups. I had lasagne which was a tad under cooked but not enough I wanted to complain. Plenty of sauce & quite nice. My husband had an American pizza which was pleasantly hot (spicy) as it should be. This was also enjoyable. We started with garlic bread but couldn't taste the garlic. Overall quite nice without being overwhelming. Would be ideal for families

Great food, nice and hot. Service great, only trouble it is a little noisey. But it is a family friendly place.

Regular as clockwork.... food, service consistently satisfactory. Never had any problem here... and excellent value too! Food is fresh, hot and tasty. Service always friendly. Will keep going.

Our family stopped in Traralgon on the way home from a camping trip, expecting a cheap and cheerful Italian experience, and La Porchetta delivered.I ordered gnocchi with seasonal vegetables in a Napoli sauce. The dish contained chunks of carrot, celery, capsicum and cauliflower that were too large, but at least the ingredients were fresh. The gnocchi was from a large scale producer but was well cooked.My partner ordered a pizza with the lot, which maintained its form notwithstanding the ingredients, and the residual oil was light.The children ordered pasta dishes and were satisfied.Service was of a basic standard and our wait time was on the long side, which is probably why there is a TV in the dining room.The decor was sterile, with a few wall hangings.Overall, a suitable stop for a passing bite of Italian.
