Contribuiți la feedbackDuring my two-week tour of Japan, I stumbled upon a fantastic vegan cafe. I decided to stop for lunch at 1:50 PM and ordered their burger, spaghetti, and maple ice cream. After being disappointed with bland vegan options in Nagoya, I was thrilled to find this hidden gem just a bit outside of the city. The trip was definitely worth it!
Update July 2022: I continue to frequent this café as often as possible. I have already used up seven point cards. In 2020, I found the atmosphere and service to be excellent and the food to be delicious! The café promotes a zero waste lifestyle, although there is room for improvement. They offer breakfast and lunch sets, as well as a variety of desserts (please note that dinner options have been on hold since July 2018 and there has been no announcement regarding their return). Check their blog for the dish of the week and their opening hours for lunch and coffee. I am thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem! While it may not be the most affordable option, it is definitely worth it (I paid 2000 Yen for the dish of the week with a drink and dessert set). I now have a point card and plan to visit more regularly! (Review updated on July 23, 2022)
I visit this cafe twice a month. They always offer a menu of various macrobiotic meal ideas. The lunch set includes pasta, curry, hamburger, and a brown rice vegetable plate. They also have a variety of sweets and vegan ice cream. The vege plate with brown rice menu changes every two weeks. The dishes are lightly seasoned to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients and they use organic vegetables and additive-free seasonings. The sweetener they use is agave syrup. The atmosphere is very welcoming. To get there, take a bus from Toyohashi Station to "Iwatadanchi" (Platform 4) and get off at Nakaiwata 3chome. Then it's just a 2-minute walk. Update as of December 10th, 2019.
We ordered the set meal with veggie steak and the vegan burger, which were both delicious. But the desserts and lattes were amazing. I would come here just for the desserts and coffee.
I was taken here by a family member who knows it's hard for me to find vegan restaurant food in Japan. Lunch menu was tasty and had good variety. Desserts were good and the ice cream was delicious. Love the atmosphere. My 3-year old daughter enjoyed her lunch as well.
