NCAA recruiting violations have been swept under the carpet and bad coaches are offered a chance to resign before being fired for fear of bad press.
Way to idealistic and liberal. Teach students some skills which can actually be applied in the business world, not the theoretical world of academia.
Worst experience of my life. Towards the end of my time at Marist, I approached the department which helps students withdraw loans in private to address some very serious concerns I had and to ask for their guidance and help me understand what my options were. The woman who was in charge, with whom I scheduled a private meeting, rather than taking me into her office to have a private discussion, she cross examined me and even raised her voice at me in front of the other students who were working in and visiting the office! I felt humiliated, shamed, even more confused, alone, and in the end, I felt massive pressure to sign off for loans (which were fraudulently withdrawn under my name) for fear that I wouldn’t graduate otherwise. She told me if I didn’t do that, I wouldn’t graduate. I went to several professors and even the dean of my department for help. I encountered very unethical business practices intimidation and pressure specifically from the financial department rather than a resource for guidance, education, and help in asserting options on navigating the first steps in adulthood. While I did encounter several wonderful professors, my over all learning experience was poor. After 5 years, I never did graduate. I hate this business institution and with a passion. It’s an education facility plagued with greed.
Beautiful, park-like campus in the Lower Hudson Valley, NY. Superior technology through multiple Joint Ventures with IBM. Technological advances, accredited programs Doctorate in Physical Therapy and MS in Physician Assistant Studies. F-1 VISA eligible programs. Top-rate undergraduate programs including top nationally rated Fashion department. Small classes. Personal attention. Stong alumni network. Easy commuter train access to NYC. Branch campus in Florence, Italy.
I love it. It's big, very beautiful view. Has a lot of majors, dual majors, accelerated programs, study abroad programs, takes other colleges credits. Not so much with diversity. Dorms are nice, a lot of different choices in food for people with allergies and special diets. Overall I loved it.
