The atmosphere can get quite busy, especially during peak times when nearby workers are on lunch breaks. I had a beer and a starter, which were enjoyable but nothing extraordinary. There are plenty of other dining options in the area to consider.
I came here for some office drinks and if you reserve a counter, it is the perfect spot to enjoy your drinks. They have a great selection of beer and wine to choose from. The meat plates are delicious and satisfying.
Via is a Czech bar and restaurant situated in the business district at the Canary Wharf. The outdoor seating area is spacious and well lit, while the interior decor gives off a vibe of being inside a large, old pirate ship. On Thursday nights, the restaurant is bustling, creating a lively atmosphere without being too crowded. The acoustics are not great, making it difficult to hear at times, but the staff is friendly and there is a wide selection of drinks and snacks to choose from. The food looked appetizing, although I only tried the appetizers. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and the restaurant is conveniently located near West India Port Station and Canary Wharf Station, just a 5-minute walk away.
The only reason we entered this place was that someone handed out a 2 for 1 cocktail voucher. what a mistake that turned out to be! the cocktails were terrible (my whisky was just mad without whisky) and the staff that was unable to appear mentally delayed. if it wasn't for the pool table there our evening would have been completely ruined.
Till a while ago, if I had to rate VIA among the pubs at West India Quay, I would not have hesitated momentarily to rate it at the bottom it did not have any unique selling proposition; the service is abominable and slow, the menu is indistinguishable and outside seating is unkempt. All this was until we discovered the hidden trough the inner room with 2 pool tables and TV all around. This room is going to be my first port of call whenever I think about watching any sports in a pub On few days when WIQ gets sunshine, the outside seating gets crowded. I always prefer to get drinks from bar inside as waiting for waiters to serve you can be like waiting in a desert for a drop of rain!
