Contribuiți la feedbackThough not situated at the Place Plumereau this is an excellent restaurant that has not succumbed to the tourist trap disease. It is small and appears to be run by two or three people. The food is very good, in particular when you love foie gras and sweet bread. Order a Vouvray white wine and you will be very happy. Highly recommended!
It was a night when we hope to get a taste of local French regional taste in Tours- and we were so happy with everything this place offers. I had scallops and prawns as entree, steak as main, and poached pear as dessert. The taste is spot-on and the vibe is great. My friends and I spent a great time there. Being four Asians who don't only speak French like Bonjour/ Merci, the waiter is kind and friendly in explaining the dishes to us (with patience)! The most amazing thing is when we needed help to find our way back, they helped us to call taxi (which unfortunately turned out to be very hard to find one). However, we are very grateful for their kindness and help when we need those the most (as we were so lost in this beautiful city)! Amazing place- recommended!
What really made La Ruche on the Rue Colbert stand out for us was the excellent service that we received. We had a train to catch the evening that we dined there and the Waitress and Chef made sure that our dishes arrived promptly so that we could enjoy our meal despite our time constraint. The Chef even went as far as checking in with us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. And speaking of our meal our steak au poivre was perfectly cooked and the Chef focuses on using fresh local ingredients as well as serving locally produced wine. The menu was an excellent value considering the number of choices available and we will definitely visit again when in the area.
We were lucky to get a table here on a busy Saturday night. We were also lucky to have a very friendly, caring server. Good menus in two price ranges with enough choices for everyone. We chose the least exoensive of the two simply because we were very happy with duck and steak. Good value. An amuse bouche to start always gets us in a good mood. My eggs en cocotte was exceptional, loved it. My husband's quail salad was also very good. Our mains were fine, we ate every scrap but the presentation was very old fashioned and the sauces were old school, as well. Not that there is snything wrong with that. The Restaurant has been around for 35 years and it shows in decor and food. Needs to be spruced up a little. Desserts were lovely, especially the nougat glace. Overall a very pleasant evening....and quiet!
The service was good in this little restaurant. We both had choices from the set menu and were not disappointed. My husband had Oeurf Cocotte with foie gras to start - the first of many for him on our holiday in France. My main of bream came with lots of vegetables - very unusual in France we've found. The portions were good and the price of 14.5 Euros was very fair.
