Very simple Indian food, far from what we expected. the taste of the dishes was very basic and lack of flavor. in fact it was lacking the famous Indian touch. nothing special.
Came here to order something as a take. the personal was not very welcoming and did not want to reply more detailed explanation were quite short) or advice regarding the menu. as a result ordered by the main plates one with fish(lotte) and second with garnelen. about 15-20 minutes. when opening the food to house there was a lot of rice for everyone (as it would be for 2 portions per) and really very few small pieces of fish and several garnels. the taste was average. I will not go back there.
Indian restaurant in mourrillon. unhealthy are simple, they have no rhymes and passion. they are very far from the excellent kitchen that can be found in india. few of the courts are vegetarian, quantity overwhelmed often quality. the workers are cold and do not share. cook their culture with happiness or emotion. average experience.
We had lunch at the Raj Mahal. The restaurant smelt a bit like room freshener but we got used to it after a few minutes and the front door was left open. The decor is kitchy: archways shaped like those you'll find at the Taj...Mahal and the dining room is painted in pastel colours. The two cheese nans €2.50 each) came to us warm, puffed to perfection and with just the right amount of cheese inside. Ok, we know that ordering cheese nan in an Indian/Pakistani restaurant is the equivalent of ordering chicken balls in a Chinese restaurant but the former are so tasty. We were pressed for time and skipped the starters. We were a bit worried when our 3 main courses arrived in rapid succession and they were all the same colour tumeric). But as soon as we tasted the dishes, our worries subsided as each dish had a distinctive flavour. We ordered up a spicy version of menu item #27 Lamb Jalfrezi lamb cooked in a curry sauce with cheese, butter, green peppers, fresh tomatoes and sour cream) for €11 and were not disappointed. It had a nice kick to it. #47 Fish Massala fish in a curry sauce with tomatoes, onions, sweet peppers and sour cream) for €10 was very good. #53 Baingan Barta purée of grilled eggplant in a curry sauce) for €9 had a enjoyable smokey flavour. The only low point was the basmati rice that was a bit crunchy and oily, which are tell-tale signs that it was reheated in a pan €2.50 per person). Service was not friendly considering we were the only customers in the restaurant but it was rather fast. Lunch came to €42 with tax and tip.
