Our group dinner, with the other hotel guests and our hosts , had a dozen dishes, generous portions, of which 8 9 were purely vegan delicious ! We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. We had our choice of western or futon tatami rooms, and every room we saw had a mini fridge, a one burner hot plate, toaster or toaster oven, rice cooker, and a good supply of pots, plates, cutting board, tableware etc. The location is far from any food shop, ATM, or restaurant , so guests need to bring their own supplies or take a local bus to the closest town , Tosashimizu(20 minutes, 400 yen) for a well stocked supermarket, farmers market , bakery, noodle shops, etc. The hotel, a bit worn and dated, is slowly being renovated with eco friendly , recycled materials, and the charming hosts (English speaking) are dedicated to a holistic lifestyle. The crescent shaped beach is popular with local surfers, and there's a wooded nature trail, wheelchair accessible, with restrooms, along the length of the shore. The hotel is on the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage route. The closest train station is Nakamura, a 40 minute local bus ride away. A hotel for Adventurous travelers !
