We go there a lot. Food is always good. Service is good. Owners make you feel so welcome. Never had a bad meal. Portions are large.
We took friends here who had flown out for a short visit and were not disappointed. It looks nothing from the outside, but the inside restaurant has linen table clothes and napkins and as there was only two tables occupied, six patrons, we had sole attention from the waitress. She was extremely knowlegible about the dishes and the food was superb. High on my list for future visits
The staff are all friendly and very efficient following the lead of the owner. Nothing is too much trouble. The a la carte is excellent as is the wine and the menu is also very good value. The chef is par excellence. Never had a bad meal here, even the tapas are good and they do home made chips!
Alba's is located at the top of Santa Anna which is the main shopping street in the middle of L'Estartit, basically the town square where the main church is, so you are bang in the middle of all the hustle and bustle and the best thing about this place is you can sit in the middle of it all, surrounded by shops you can sit relaxing on a hot summer night just watching people walking by, if the kids get restless they can run around the square in front of the church to their hearts content, of course under your watchful eye. They serve a mixture of foods, from tapas, pasta's, steaks and they even do liver and onions which although I have never had, I know my dad always ventures here for it on his trips so it must be good. The fillet steak is usually a good size and cooked to perfection. They make a mean grilled goats cheese and apple salad ! The service is attentive and very friendly, they always bring a kids chair out without us requesting it, we go every holiday but do see them do it whenever someone arrives with kids so its not a special treatment for certain people. The only negative I have is that the Paella's and pizza's are the frozen ready cooked ones alot of places now serve which I find a bit bland, but I can vouch for the items they cook themselves. Alba's was originally a small coffee shop up until about 7 years ago owned by a taxi company and I think the owner converted it into a restaurant for his daughter who now runs it, Alba's is still one of the most popular taxi companies in L'Estartit that has been running for as long as I remember so if you have a few too many to drink you have the added bonus I guess of them being able to ring a taxi through ! Another thing although they open early they do not serve food until 7pm, just to make people aware and it does get busy !
