Sake House Asian Food - Torrington

This isn’t your typical Asian restaurant in Torrington. The lighting is dim, and the service might feel a bit sluggish, but it really takes me back to my time stationed in Japan. You have to try the hot sake; it’s a must! They also offer authentic Japanese export beers, and sipping on an Asahi Super Dry made me nostalgic for my nights out in Yokosuka.

I hesitated to write this review, but I feel it’s necessary. This used to be my favorite restaurant, but it has really declined in the past few months. The staff seems aware that there are black mice running around while customers are eating, and the bartenders have seen them too. I have allergies to three types of shellfish, so I typically order sashimi and inform them of my allergies. Unfortunately, they placed all three allergenic items on my plate and tried to argue that they hadn’t touched my food. If I hadn’t noticed, it could have led to a serious issue for me, especially since I didn’t even order those items. To make matters worse, they made the waitress comp my meal—poor girl. I cannot support this establishment. They should consider themselves fortunate that I didn’t report them to the health inspectors. Normally, I don’t write reviews, but I genuinely want to prevent anyone from getting sick or worse!

The food is delicious, and the drinks are fantastic! We absolutely love this restaurant. The chef and the waitress are always so friendly. We can't wait to return!

Lovely Asian restaurant in Torrington! The Love Boat sushi platter was fabulous. We also had a mapo tofu (nicely spiced) and teriyaki chicken (cooked perfectly). Everything was delicate and wonderful. Thank you so much for your hospitality and delicious food.

Was awful. The waitress was a sweetheart and was amazing however the kitchen sucked. We waited an hour for half of our apps to come out, then after 1 hour and 30 minutes we still didn’t even get our main meals or apps that were still missing. We decided to pay the check and leave. They were more concerned about their DoorDash orders then the 3 tables or customers sitting in the restaurant. The waitress was great kitchen was awful. Hopefully she doesn’t get blamed for us leaving.
