Taberna De Guaro - Torremolinos

This place had been recommended by a friend and it was really good. We shared an asparagus and Serrano ham starter then had grilled octopus and squid, both with decent accompaniments and very tasty. With 6 copas of red wine it came to over €60, which slightly surprised us. Maybe we should have asked the prices before ordering from the specials list. Mostly in Andalusia off season we've been surprised how cheap meals are when we don't know the price until the bill comes.

They took our money once but not again. My wife ordered the shrimp croquets and they were absolutely nothing but mush. She had 1 and a half out of maybe 20 croquettes and no shrimp what so ever . I gad the tuna tat-ere and imagine there was tuna somewhere but not sure where it was. We told the waiter exactly what we thought but still paid $46 for that “ meal “. Our traveling companions had the shrimp salad which she said was fair at best! And the other fellow the ham croquettes. We will never return.

I visited this so called good food restaurant on the 19/3/2015 i ordered a sirlion steak well done my partner she had baby lamb chops as we watched the owner prepare our order we watched him handle my steak ready for the bbq not once did this gentleman ever wash his hands very alarming, when the food arrived at the table i thought it was a prank steak rare blood running out of it and some chips is all i got no onions or mushrooms no sides at all on my plate or my good ladys plate i even had to ask for salt for 21 euro for the steak and 18 euro's for the lamb chops that my partner said did not taste like any lamb she has ever had before, i could not believe what this man was serving us so i am writing this review in the hope that other tourists and even some locals are made aware the this restaurant is basically ripping people off my advice to anyone visiting the area of torremolinos is to avoid this place at all costs as you are likely to end up ill from the bad food hygiene practice in this establishment.
