I got the Yookejang Kalguksoo spicy beef hand torn noodles. Broth is delicious and noodles are nice and chewy. My son got the Beef Bulgogi that was also very good. This is my second time and they definitely didn't disappoint.
9/20/23: about 2:10 pm. Restaurant about empty. Nobody Korean looks at me, so obviously no greeting nor eye contact. Then a Hispanic busboy was sent to my table, who asks, “Want tea”. No offer of Oksusu-cha, and when I ask a steel cup with ice falling off the rim is brought. I ask a question about bibimbap house specialty, the poor kid struggles with answers. NO KOREAN, except dealing with White Korean/ Asian tables.I wasn’t dressed like a bum: to the contrary Designer Jacket/ Glasses SO ALL I CAN THINK IS MY COLOR FACE. Da Maat if you do not like Indians then post a sign! I left but insults like this destroy reputation and business because there’s no forgiving Racism.
Da Maat is a comfy Korean restaurant with a wide variety of options. Overall, the food is pretty good and better than many of the other Korean food options in the area. The atmosphere is homey and welcoming, with the dark wood paneling everywhere making the place feel almost rustic. There always a decent sized crowd, even on weekdays. The service here is kind and helpful.I went with a group and we got the bossam for two and galbitang. The bossam was refreshing, but not anything mind blowing. The galbitang was clean tasting and nourishing. The side dishes here are great and the staff are good about refilling them too.
I was sad when Cho Dang closed, but they have temporarily moved to this location since they are owned by the same folks I heard. I love their seafood pancake and soon tofu!
We love Da Maat, they have wide varieties of excellent food, it's our go-to Korean restaurant in the area. They are closing and moving a few doors down this week! It will have a new name and be the first shop in the mall. The new name is Jang Su Jang, like their sister store in the Bay Area. We are looking forward to the new store and hoping it gets an even wider menu like the Bay Area store!
