Thompson Diner - Toronto

I arrived with a group of 12 people without a reservation and we were seated as soon as a table became available (within about 5 minutes). The staff was extremely polite and welcoming. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and found the chicken to be juicy and tender, while the waffles were delicious with jalapenos and bacon mixed in. Our server Shaun deserves a special mention as he was wonderful and provided excellent service.

The food was delicious! The sections where fair. Prices, where on the high side. The waitress we had set ourselves and never came back to the table. We had to sit there another waiter after half an hour. Once we've finished eating and paid the bill, our waitress finally came to the table to thank us for our tip. The tip was for the guy who didn't serve us for her. I wonder if we were still sitting there if we hadn't ordered from other waiters. The manager had a big hole in his sweater. This place is lucky that it is attached to the hotel or I think it would be in trouble if based on quality.

Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Your parts were great! I've been thinking about the next time I could come before my meal was finished.

The el benedicto was dynamite. As was the hot sauce served with the fried chicken. Definitely worth a visit and great for breakfast with a group or little ones. Has high chairs.
