I was expecting a traditional sandwich like a club sandwich, but was pleasantly surprised by the delicious bread covered in sauce and flavorful beef slices that I received. It was a good value for the price. The spring rolls were also crispy and perfectly cooked. The portion sizes were generous as well. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal for me.
Ever since I moved to the neighborhood in September, I've been curious about this small and hidden gem of a restaurant. Tonight was the ideal night for some comforting food, and the Rib House did not disappoint. The ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful, cooked slowly and with a delicious smoky-sweet glaze. My son finished his half rack before I could even finish my coleslaw, which was the only letdown - a bit too oily for my taste. However, the fries were outstanding. I typically don't indulge in fries, but these were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft like clouds on the inside. The staff was also very friendly. We will definitely be returning!
I have lived in the neighborhood for 15 years and avoided the Rib House for most of that time due to the sketchy clientele. Despite this, I finally decided to try their ribs for takeout and was amazed by how delicious they were. The cook, Billy, was wearing pristine whites and his ribs were finished with a touch of honey before being placed in the takeout container. A half rack of ribs with fries, coleslaw, and a bun was only $10, while a burger and fries were $5. I also tried the teriyaki short ribs on a recommendation from a regular customer, which were good but not as amazing as the ribs. Another regular suggested trying the hangover breakfasts served on weekends starting around noon, which I plan to do. Overall, the ribs at this restaurant are fantastic and well worth the affordable price. I recommend taking them home to enjoy. It is definitely worth a visit to this spot on Woodbine Avenue.
Yum Yum. This well known East York greasy spoon, offers a variety of food choices that rarely disappoint. I have never encountered a meal that didn't leave me , or my taste buds satisfied . The prices are more than modest and the alcohol is reasonably priced (much cheaper than most establishments). I would recommend anything off the menu, but the omlettes are especially excellent. <br/ Enjoy!
We were looking for traditional BBQ ribs when we came across rave reviews for The Rib House. The ribs are tasty but slightly dry, and are closer to sweet sour ribs than BBQ. Definitely not the candied sweet and sour type, but definitely have an Asian flavour profile. They are insanely inexpensive, and for a cheap meal are very good. Not the super-moist amazing BBQ we were looking for though. Will likely order again, but not for a 'special meal '. Also, other reviews that said to look past the appearance of the front of the place weren 't kidding. No way I would have ordered the if I hadn 't read to not be off of by it.
