The experience from when we walked in to the time we left was amazing. Extremely friendly staff and amazing food. What a combo!
We had a great time at this restaurant with a fun atmosphere and energetic waitress! The two of us enjoyed our meal, starting with Voodoo pasta, blackened chicken, and spicy shrimp hush puppies. The hurricane drink was also delicious. The only letdown was the Cajun Caesar salad; we were hoping for a spicy kick but it was just average. Despite this, the food was still tasty overall.
I was eager to go to thos restaurant and have southern food. As soon as you walk in there a small bar on the right. We waited half a second to be greeted and seated. I loved the dark floors and tables. The place was almost full which is always a good sign. We were seated at the back which we loved because there was a mural. There were paintings on the wall that you could buy. I really enjoyed the ambiance. The place was full of energy. You could hear people talking, laughing and having a good time. On Tuesdays they have a psychic and you can have your fortune told, $20 for 10 mins. I will definitely be returning for a reading. Food: first we had cornbread. We both enjoyed it. It had butter on it. I prefer it without butter but the cornbread was good. I would definitely order again. I had seafood jambalaya, it was delicious. So much flavours! BF had the lamb burger. He enjoyed it and said the corn gave it a good flavour. For dessert we had a slice of homemade pecan pie. There's nothing better than homemade desserts! I did order a hurricane to drink. I can only remember it has rum. Its hard for me to describe alcohol but I can say that I did enjoy it too. I am excited to go back and try more food items!!!
Situated at the corner of Dundas and Ossington, Southern Accent is a delightful restaurant with a unique atmosphere and mature lighting. It is truly one of the more distinct places I have visited and is now one of my favorites. The service was top-notch, with professional staff treating us with courtesy and respect. The food was incredibly flavorful, especially the gumbo and beignets, which were both fantastic. The gumbo was hearty and the meat was of excellent quality, while the beignets were soft with the perfect amount of sugar. The pork tenderloin and voodoo pasta were also delicious, with a beautiful blend of spices and sauces creating a wonderful aroma and flavor. The hush puppies were decent, but not particularly special compared to the other dishes. Despite the slightly higher prices, the vibrant environment, exceptional service, and delicious Cajun cuisine make Southern Accent a worthwhile dining experience.
This restaurant is always a fantastic choice for a date night, whether you are a meat lover or vegan who enjoys Cajun food. The menu changes seasonally, so vegans should inquire about the possibility of having some blackened tofu as a starter. We find ourselves coming back a few times each year.
