We were told that we were sitting in a stand with a pianist and a special guest artist. When we arrived, we went to a second room without looking at the front (main) room where the entertainers were. I made the request for what was promised and was said it would not be possible by a curt server (not sure why it was not possible if, as she told us, the seats were done a few hours earlier, or why our reservations do not guarantee to sit in front no additional fees before and they had described this to be our seats. Bill took 20 minutes to arrive, Visa machine didn't work, bad dessert.
Much hyped because of the celebrity cook, but everyone in my group found the food very, very heavy. Delicious, but heavy. In 20 years, I didn't eat that. I hear the room at a party will be a few nights, but not this one.
The ambience was interestingly a balance of classic, mixed with young under dressed female 20-and-a-half-year-old and older men. A large piano took on the front helmet, and for this occasion played and sang The touchy-feely Trevor Gowan on the keys. Our appetizer of Scallops was delicious. However, my sea bass (from where I am not sure) was delicious in itself, but made Bland by the cut radishes ornaments on the top. Really a good piece of fish with the wrong companion. The striped sea bass of my partner was a colourful piece of meat that radiated goodness, but disappointed the palate. With a bitter radicchio, it was really terrible. Dessert was insignificant. A chocolate that, fortunately, has not insulted.
We went to the Sopra Upper Lounge on a LivingSocial Deal a good night for 4 of us before vacation madness. This can be difficult, some restaurants are somehow by hand with the people who use these offers. The story could no longer have been the opposite of Sopra. We were thrilled and accompanied to a wonderful table. All night was attentive without being obtrusive and we were treated like kings. The food was wonderful a 5-course tasting menu with wine pairs. From the truffles in the first course to the addictive beet risotto to the decadent brownie we enjoyed every bite and wine. In a state of bliss, we ordered more coffees and fragrances to make magic last. A great night!
