Smoke's Poutinerie - Toronto

I took my friend from Florida to try poutine for the first time. It was fantastic and she couldn't get enough of it!

I always love stopping by this restaurant. The girl who works the afternoon weekday shift is amazing, I adore her (I'm sorry, I don't know her name). We always joke about it being a judgment-free zone. She even remembers my order every time. It's the little things that really matter to me.

I stick to the original recipe and have been pretty happy everytime I've been to Smokes. Granted, I'm usually a bit drunk when I do visit. Its definitely drunk or winter food.

Granted, we stopped here at around 2 PM, so that might excuse the poor quality. The fries tasted like they had been sitting around too long, and they attempted to mask it with extra salt, but it was hardly edible. The gravy was decent, but the cheese curds were not. It was disappointing, as it was my first visit. And my last. Oh, and the music was way too loud for a Saturday afternoon, but maybe I'm too old.

Visiting Toronto from U.K. And this was my first experience of poutine. Had the traditional! Was amazing! I 'm a big fan of chips cheese and gravy back home and this easily could compare! The restaurant was clean and the staff were great.
