Skwish - Toronto

We had lunch at Skwish in July. The Salmon was excellent. We also had a brunch there a while back and were very impressed with the quantity and quality of the choices.

We had an excellent dinner but they charged way too much for a glass of wine.My house wine was $6.00 but my daughter wanted a 9 oz savignon blanc whichwas $18.00 for a glass. Can't believe they would charge that much. Our salmondinner was the same price. The same bottle at the store is $15.95. You are in theBeach, not New York or wherever.

This is a very comfortable place to come to. Great old pinewood floors, great space, airy, bright, and nice view of the street. No white linen.Food is quite good and fairly innovative twists on old classics, like hamburgers (my friend ordered cheese burger and really liked it) and Mexican chips with toppings (I ordered it and really enjoyed the mix of toppings). The beer is great. They go out of their way to make you aware of a Beach beer from down the street, brewed in the Beaches. I thought it was very tasty. If you're the type who likes to yak with servers and the owner, you're in luck. They make the time to be part of the experience.Very nice home away from home kind of place for a neighborhood.

Popped in for their buck an oyster during jazz fest. We got half a dozen frozen oysters in the shell and a frozen lemon wedge. Ummm, these should be like freshly shucked, how long were they on ice and did some customer after us get our discards? We have tried this place before and walked our due to lack of service.It was also early in the evening, ladies bathroom was grungy and no paper towels.The restaurant smells bad.Skwish really sucks. Don't bother.

Well this spot was a great place to visit and enjoy an evening of food and drinkStaff needs to manage the crazy people coming in and disrupting a wonderful eveningIt's not all about making money it's about having the customers happy I will question the next time I go there with the possibility of major disruption once moreMP
