Contribuiți la feedbackI enjoy exploring the vegan options at Rendez Vous. I appreciate that they offer unique vegan dishes instead of only a standard vegetarian combo plate. The curries are quite delicious.
We have been loyal customers for many years and have never been disappointed. My wife, who is vegan, is always delighted with the options here. The staff, including the owner, are truly exceptional.
Rendez Vous is an amazing escape just 15 minutes by subway from downtown Toronto. It was a pleasant surprise in my ongoing exploration of Ethiopian cuisine. The cozy and airy restaurant has a down-to-earth vibe, an outdoor terrace, and a cool atmosphere. Rendez Vous is now on my list of must-visit spots in Toronto. Whether you're in the mood for delicious Ethiopian dishes or unique beverages like Tej, you won't want to leave. The Doro bet was perfect, but be sure to try the Rendez Vous special Tibs – they will blow you away! The cool vibes, diverse clientele, and fantastic food made this the best dining experience of my visit to the Toronto International Film Festival 2019.
We ordered several meals and they come served on the same dish. The food was spicy and all dishes contain garlic and onion. There are dishes with all kinds of meat beef, chicken, lamb. The food is eaten with small amounts...injera a soft pita bread like). You spit on food with it and don't eat any utensils. They supply wipes for hands. The food was nothing special well cooked and the server arranged it on the plate as it came. It is rude to cross hands with other people, while food is taken, so that food is arranged so that everyone can eat all different dishes. All dishes and glasses are made of plastic melamine. We also ordered a tea the real ginger tea, quite strong was served with a black tea bag. They make traditional coffee is full of fragrance and strong. You will fry the beans and let the scent of it enjoy and prepare coffee. The server came to pour coffee for us from a large pot. She left the pot there to enjoy the rest. It takes time to order this kind of coffee so safe when you arrive. There are also a minimum number of cups, for example you can order not only a cup. They serve sugar and milk with coffee for the true experience, I would try at least a bit of coffee only black. Coffee was the best part of the visit. The place is clean and the servers do their best.
My second time here after 2 years. 10th time in an Ethiopean eatery. I should have listened to another customer on way to the washroom, he said try something different this time. I wish I came out that time. Extremely poor quality, and much reduced...quantity (probably they know people can not eat this bad bad food). Chicken was like tough rubber, when gave the feedback they asked if we eat lamb or beef. Who cares man, ruined the dinner already. Management, you hired talented guys at the front, and probably a bunch of jokers in the kitchen. Fix it if u want to stay in business.
