Oyster Boy - Toronto

As a seafood lover with a taste for quality and variety - this resturant most certainly deserve the 5 stars...service combined with a menu and taste to please most ????

On a whim my wife and I decided to see if we could snag a walk in table on a Saturday night. Being later eaters, we were able to get a couple of seats at the bar. We've lived in the neighbourhood for five years now and always wanted to try them out.The team at OysterBoy is very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions regarding the oysters they had that evening and tailored the selections to our preferences. We also had an order of onion rings and a mix of baked oysters and they were all fantastic.Even though we were getting full, we had mains as well - lobster mac and cheese that had some very meaty lobster pieces and the fish tacos. Both were excellent.Prices are very reasonable for a seafood restaurant and the staff are fantastic. If you want to go at an earlier hour be sure to book a table in advance.We will be back!

We were a little taken aback when we entered the restaurant, but we had been warned that the restaurant was famous for its oysters and not for its ambiance. The restaurant, oyster bar, and most of the tables are small; but the customers are all smiling causing us to ask "why are these people so happy"?Its the oysters of course. The servers will be happy to bring other fine seafood dishes to your table, but with oysters of this quality why would anyone want anything else? We enjoyed two dozen oysters on the half shell each, and they were as plump, crisp and delicious as we have found anywhere. Each oyster was perfectly shucked and arrayed expertly on a bed of ice just as they should be.We were very happy to have the Oyster Boy himself visit our table. His name is Adam, and he is the charming young man who owns a great oyster enterprise including Oyster Boy restaurant. When we finished our meal Adam called a cab for us and said goodbye as we headed back for our hotel.If you love oysters and you have a visit to Toronto on your schedule you can't afford to miss this restaurant.

Very friendly staff. Delicious food. Generous servings. And right beside the park too. Next time we are in Toronto we will certainly be back.

Make sure you book ahead because tables are hard to come by for all the right reasons. Oyster Boy is a super cozy restaurant with a bunch of small tables and a great atmosphere. The food is absolutely amazing! They had a large selection of very fresh oysters. The server was super patient in helping us choose which ones to get. For the mains, we got the Mixed Grill and a Pickerel dish; the Mixed Grill was definitely the winner here (though the Pickerel was no slouch either). It's an assortment of grilled mussels, clams, crab legs, shrimp, a whole fish, and fries -- good for two people to share. Service was slow but good, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. We didn't feel pushed or hurried at all.This place is great for a cozy date or a small family dinner!
