Mr. Gushi - Toronto

Gushi sits among a row of Container Box restaurants on the south side of Dundas Street just east of Bathurst.The standard boneless fried chicken box with rice costs $9 and tastes great. There are a few other options as well.Service is a little slow, yet friendly. There are a couple of picnic tables that are available on a first come basis.Gushi takes credit cards. Some other places in this small stretch do not.

Arrived early for my train at Union station and stumbled across the mr gushi stand. Ordered the gushi original with chicken, sesame vinaigrette, spicy mayo and pickles on a bed of purple rice. The chicken was really fresh and the mix of fast food flavours was great. $11 and Worth IT!

This was my first time having takoyaki since I left Japan and it was much like I remembered it being- the octopus was tender, the fried balls were molten in the middle, accompanied by red ginger. I don't think they use garlic aoili in Japan and I think it was missing the seaweed but it was delicious none the less. Can't wait to go back

We saw reviews and decided to seek out this restaurant and try the food. Well, this is not a sit down restaurant. Maybe we missed that part of other reviews. It was minus 8'C and windy so we were definitely not eating outside. Fortunately the packaging is all intended for take out and eating in the car was okay. This little area had several other food stalls so we will likely come back in the summer. The food was great! We had several containers of chicken, squid and purple rice. All very good! The ginger was good but surprisingly a little salty for me. I guess I am accustomed to sweeter ginger. Everything was super fresh and very hot so we had to let it cool down. Great option of you are in the area. Not sure I would drive there again. Overheard others saying they were picking up take out as part of uber?Good value for quality.

Food (petiscos) very well served and seasoned! It's a flavor explosion. rather simple and cheap place. suggestion: do not eat at night, pq spices weigh in the stomach!
