Contribuiți la feedbackAt Le Batifole we felt liked we are at a friend's place. Their staffs are personable, they know their dishes, and, of course they speaks French fluently. The ambiance is cosy giving this is only a maximum 45 seatings restaurant. I had converted to be a fish eater after I explored a mouthful of their Crab
I stumbled onto this restaurant totally by chance and what a lucky chance it was! Although many of the dishes weren't meant for a vegetarian, the waiter was very patient and helpful in finding dishes that would meet my needs. I had only an appetizer but I was waited on as if I were ordering the most extravagant items on the menu. It was a delightful experience and I would recommend this charming little spot to anyone wanting a truly unique dining experience.
We returned, with a friend, after absence of more than a year and realized that we should have come back much sooner. Food was perfect, selection ample, service pleasant. It's far from the madding crowd and looks unassuming while maintaining the highest standard.
François and I dined to batifole last week, one evening after the International Food Fair. the menu consists of typical French dishes and the cassoulet has not at all disappointed us. We'd have thought we'd be crazy! !the list of wines will not disappoint the connoisseurs, and for the lovers of the valley of the rhône, the choice is immense!
Saw the reviews online and we really wanted to have a nice meal out during our holiday so made reservations for this in advance. In a Wednesday evening, you could have easily gotten a table as a walk-in but I imagine it would get pretty busy on the weekend. What a find!!!We shared 3 appetisers between 4: the crab spring roll, terrine and foie gras. The foie gras was an absolute standout with the warm toasty baguette. Delightfully presented too.The mains were also amazing but entries were better in our opinion. The John Dory, lamb medallions, Royale and fish stew were all very flavoursome and came out piping hot and together. As it is a small establishment, we didn't have to wait overly long for our food as other people commented. I imagine this has to do with how busy the restaurant is. The chef himself came out to greet his patrons who he was a very welcome gesture. We squeezed in dessert sharing the apple tartan and chocolate fondue. even my dad who dislikes desserts couldn't stop eating! Seriously amazing.Wish we could give 6 stars and wish we had something like this in Sydney. Highly recommend! Loads of street parking steps from the restaurant around and free after 6PM.
