Table wasn't ready...no problem we will find something to do and explore....these guys were full, had a waiting list, bar was packed and the lovely owner still accommodated us for a quick beer. We were willing to stand and enjoy our delicious hops but she insisted we have a window seat (it was reserved but not for another 20 minutes.) Every employee was super busy (mixing drinks, shucking oysters etc) but were lovely and charismatic. We spent 20 minutes there and were convinced to return after our dinner rezo. We did return and they were amazing. All of our friends loved it. Can't wait to come back to enjoy a dinner - the food looked amazing and the Staff was out of this world top notch. Highly recommend.
Overall good food, not cheap, accompanied by expensive drinks. Welcome to Queen Street East. Well prepared tapas food which just barely justifies the prices. Each dish unique in its preparation, taste and presentation....except that TOO MANY dishes were bathed in the same sriracha mayo. Enuf already with the mayo. The flavours of several dishes would stand on their own without the artsy splash of hot pink mayo. Let it go.
This tapas spot is not a dinner spot, but is it ever a fantastic spot for snacks and bevvies with pals! The food is fresh (tuna tostadas is a MUST, along with the boar empanadas) and the drinks are aplenty. Sarah and Lucas took good care of us.I have one too many Old Cuban's - so much so that Sarah seemed a bit apprehensive that I might forget to tip, that she reminded me. This is the only part I didn't like. Despite that, we did leave a bit tip because of how well we were taken of.
What an incredible place! We were recommended by friends and are we ever happy we ended up there. Craft cocktails, delicious food and the service was out of this world. This will definitely be a regular haunt. Friendly and welcoming owners, can't wait to try their bar The Comrade!
This place serves 14-$15 cocktails, 3 beers on tap $(7 for a glass; not a pint) and bottled beers. The food is mostly tapas, which means small servings that are meant to be shared. The fried chicken is good and so are the scallops with foie gras and spicy octopus (although the octopus wasn't really spicy.) The deviled eggs are not bad $(6 for 4 halves).Perhaps the winner is the seafood fried rice for $25. It's tasty and has lots of seafood. The place is small, loud and VERY dimly lit. Cash or debit only; no credit. This place is too expensive for what it is and there's nothing that's really worth going back to again and again. But it's not bad.
