Desotos - Toronto

This restaurant is a classic favorite of mine! You have to try the Penne A La Vodka - it's bursting with flavor and so satisfying. Absolutely delicious!

My boyfriend and I stopped in at this restaurant for their mussels. We put our order in 5 minutes within sitting down. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our meals and the servers had not given us any update. I saw the couple behind us order their food, eat their food and then pay for their food. I asked a passing server to check on our ticket in the kitchen. She said she would. Five minutes later I see her serving other tables and clearly not coming back to give us an update. There were more servers than tables at this time, so it wasn't a short staff problem.Two orders of mussels should take 15 min. tops to make- all you do is steam them. We decided to leave. I told the hostess our frustrations and she didn't seem to care. We ended up going to Marcellos down the street which had excellent food and professional and speedy service. Ironic part was the patron next to us ordered mussels in a packed restaurant- and he received them within 10 minutes of ordering. Will NEVER go to DeSotos ever again and you can be sure I'll be spreading how awful the service is at this establishment.

Our Super Bowl hangout! Always an enjoyable experience. Food continues to improve all the time. Very friendly and professional staff. Looking forward to my next visit!

Some friends and I had dinner here on Sunday January the 8th and spent almost $250 but it was well worth it. The grilled calamari was out of this world, and the pesto chicken spaghetti was amazing. Our server was fantastic, however the hostess that greeted us and seated us had a real bad attitude problem. If the food wasn't so good I would never go back based on the hostess that acted as though we were troubling her to seat us. Miserable with no cheer. She also had staring problems throughout our meal. However the food was so good, and our server was so sweet, we will be back!

Este restaurant esta en la esquina de donde me quedo, paso todos los dias y lo veo, de hecho es mi punto de referencias x sus lucecitas.Hoy despues de un largo dia pase a cenar, necesitaba recargar algo de energias. Para mi sorpresa habia en su carta un hambuerguesa veggie, bueno no era vegana x q tenia queso pero me imagino que se podia pedir sin el. La hambuerguesa estaba muy buena hecha con distintos tipos de legumbres, la combinacion muy sabrosa. Pedi un vino que para mi gusto no estaba muy bueno, soy chilena x lo que mi standar es bustante alto, pero el tema es q al preguntar x los vinos la chica, muy amorosa, me empiezo a decir las cepas que tenian pero no me entrego una carta para ver su origen y la viña, asi q me tuve que decidir solo en base al tipo. La atencion bustante buena, y el ambiente me gusto bastante, mezclado, como es normal en esta ciudad multicultural.
