Dave's... On St. Clair - Toronto

Hillcrest is a wonderful neighborhood with many dining options, but we found several closed for Sunday lunch/brunch. Luckily, we were able to snag a table on the small street terrace at DAVE'S. The servers were polite and efficient, quickly clearing our table and taking our drink orders (which were promptly served at reasonable prices). Unfortunately, the kitchen was slow with food preparation, causing a noticeable delay for our group. Despite the wait, the food was worth it. The MAC CHEESE looked and smelled delicious, while the FRENCH TOAST was beautifully presented and flavorful. DAVE'S BURGER was exceptional, with a juicy patty and crispy onions, served with a variety of mayo options. The French fries were perfectly crispy and came in a generous portion. The only downside was the bun, which was a bit too thick and dense. Overall, DAVE'S offers great food, daily specials, and evening entertainment, making it a popular spot in the neighborhood.

Came here in my last night in Toronto and what a shame as I obviously missed on a big neighborhood bar the rest of my stay. Friendly people and bar staff with a great mood over the place. The owner even took time to say hi. If you're looking for a good hangout with good beers, music and food, Dave's place. I'll be back one day.

Dave's is part of the funeral strips of cafes, pubs and restaurants along St. Clair West Avenue between Bathurst and Lansdowne. Beautiful beer selection, decent food (that pumpkin Gnocchi last time I was here, tasty), often there are events like live music, bring your own...vinyl recording nights, trivia nights etc.

We only had a limited amount of time to eat and explore. We informed our server about this and they were very understanding. The drinks and food were served promptly and everything was delicious. We tried the Poutine and Karaage, both of which were fantastic!

In fact, any time I have visited this local eatery, the food is freshly prepared. The burgers, including the monthly burger, are well seasoned and good to the last bite. The fries are cooked to perfection. The only suggestion that I have is lower the...music volume and pick an easier listening selection as rap music is not everyone's taste.
