Anestis Taverna - Toronto

I know that I was in front of you when it was called something else. barely all customers so service was fast. midday specialties (several souvaklis) very competitive for quite large portions. food quality reasonably good. so much competition along the Danforth.hope they can. build a customer base.

Is very popular with Greek foods, but this place serves indirectly to poor Greek foods at considerable cost! service was horrific many waiters around, but not too efficient! I have eaten in several Greek restaurants in the neighbourhood over the years...and will certainly not be back to this!

It hurts me to write this critique. a few years ago, when the opener gave it up, I gave this place star with great staff, big owners and great eating. but I have visited many paintings after, and I must say the years of service has gone downhill, the waiters do not care, the half of the time they do not even wear masks and went to and out of the kitchen eating. I wish the owner and his wife would bring this place back to his roots.

I fell in here for lunch. sat on their very beautiful terrace with retractable brandies very comfortable. the restaurant itself is very large and beautifully decorated and airy, seating. the menu offers many possibilities, including fresh fish. many wine-selections and a selection of beer. we ordered a few caught beer, app by calamari, Greek salate, lamb souvlakia and lamb/bef gyros. the calamari was deeply fried very oily, crispy and very boiled so that they were so chewing that we did not finish them, which never happens when we order this appetizer. the diligent was more what they would expect very hard with twirling rings. not the light scatters they usually find on calamari. the salate were disappointing for a Greek salate in a Greek restaurant. I had better in pubs. it consisted of iceberg salad, two very thin slices tomaten and two olives, but it has fortunate a generous cover of feta cheese, which was welcomed. the Greek salads I am used are with gurke, tomato, olive, feta and whatever nice supplement the chef can come. the lambsuppakia was ordered to cook medium, but was very well made and therefore chew. it came to his desired choice of a pita, but the bargains of lamb were much too big to wrap in the pita and had to be cut and eaten with a fork. the pita was very wet and would have been too difficult to pick up. the gyroscope was interesting, it came with loads of very dry lamb / bark slices and half a piece of a thin tomat, swirling and of all dings on a bed of which very dry, not freshly roasted French fries, the kind I would rather not eat, all sitting on a bit of sown pita. now to be fairy, they mentioned at the end that was all very dry and would have been much better if they had put a Greek sauce on the whole thing as I normally had. I ate most of how I was hungry. No, we didn't complain. the server that took our orders was so nice and the server that brought our food out was also so nice that we could not get to complain. if even during our meal someone would have asked us how the meal was, we would have spoken in any case. but unfortunately not and we do not. I would not recommend nor will I ever go back to anestis.

My wife and I had an excellent lunch here recently. I ordered the lamb kebobs and she had the lamb special, both of which were cooked to perfection, along with the sides. During our meal, we enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine and the beautiful...weather on their patio. Service was very good. Great way to spend a summer afternoon! Highly recommended.
