Contribuiți la feedbackI visited this restaurant for the first time and was extremely impressed. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic! I will definitely be returning in the future.
Menu mentioned family styles portions, but pasta I intended to share with my gf (and she got the margherita pizza) was very small in portion. For $38, the boar was good but very oversalted, and when I asked the waitress about the portion size she made a snobby comment, well this is fine dining. Additionally I know I am a huskier guy, but for her to follow up with plus we do not want you rolling out the front door was quite insulting, even if meant as a joke. I worked in fine dining culinary before, eventually switching careers for better pay options, and from my experience, this simply is not fine dining. The saltiness of the food, the portion size for the price on the pasta, and the comments by the server, were leaving me dissatisfied for what I thought was an otherwise good experience (The sourgough with burrata to start and the chocolate cake for dessert fast service/good drinks amd replenished water were are perks of positive service). I am sorry but the prices are not justifiable, they are pretentious. I do not mean to be rude by that characterization but the potential is there for the price justification if refinement on seasoning and server manners are worked on . If you want proper fine dining/high end food experience brought to your venue, please seek out other owners who do it right like the Marquee in Milton, or Bar Isabel in little Portugal/Little Italy in TO. The problem with venues who claim fine dining is never the concept of small portion size for high cost, but the execution. And in the case of the pasta with wild boar, would even an extra handful of the handrolled noodles really hurt if it means bolstering the experience?
This restaurant is a fantastic choice for both lunch and dinner. It is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal before catching a show at the Princess of Wales theater.
Despite this setback, the rest of the dishes were delicious and everyone else at my table enjoyed their meals, except for my main dish. Although I was really craving a steak that day, I should have chosen a different option. I would consider returning to Tutti Matti in the future, but I would not recommend ordering the steak. It was simply a piece of meat with a mound of arugula, lacking any real vegetables or starch.
Service was terrible. Incredibly slow, in 4 people we ate at different times the 4th person had her pasta literally 20 minutes after the rest of us) . Had to ask 3 times for bread, several times to refill my water. Quality of food is very average and overpriced.The fiorentina steak was overcook $150 steak). We ate it anyway because we didn 't wanted to way another 40 minutes. Pasta was blend. They tried to make up for the mess offering the dessert, which was a nice gesture , too bad that they were terrible.Also, they call their cured meat cheese plate Toscano ... But there is nothing from Tuscany and cheeses from all over the world.Not worth it.
