Cafe Maxim's Patisserie -  Toronto,

I have always ordered their strawberry meringue cake for special occasions and they have never let us down with this. We decided to go in for cake and coffee. We ordered 4 pastries, Vienna coffee, with one green tea latte. Service was good and pastries were decent. We the peach pastry which was quite delicious, starwberry short cake was on point, however the green tea cheese cake was lacking in flavour. Also, coffee tasted like coffee flavoured water. Gratuity is automatically charged and they don't accept cash unless over 25$

Love all the sweet pastries and cakes at Maxim's! Most notable favorite would be the meringue! I love the strawberry meringue! It's light flakey and delectable! Best I've had in Tdot!

Great desserts! Love the meringue cakes!! Very fresh airy. Very affordable. We had 3 slices of cake a cup of coffee for under $27 (includes tax tip). Service is 'just ok ' at best. Also when we went to pay, we were told cash only....boo.! Next time I think we 'll just do take out.

YUMMY YUMMY CAKES!!!. I was there on mothers day and it was such a lovely family environment. This restaurant is more a family-oriented restaurant and it's warming. The people working there are just friendly and productive! <br/ <br/ I love their cakes. They have a lot of choices and I've tried most of them and it's pretty awesome! The best oneout of all is the Cappuccino Meringue! Love the crisp and the coffee chocolate flavour. Everything just fresh.<br/ <br/ They have really yummy crab cakes. I can tell that they use real crabs to make them. The main course I had was the steak! It was very tasty! I like the gravy that comes with the steak. <br/ <br/ Overall experience, I think it was worth the try! They have pretty good pricing as well for that quality of food! :

Cakes are.... The cakes are pretty good. For a dingy looking patisserie place, they serve pretty fresh cake. I really thought they were going to be super dry because they don't seem busy. We actually sat in the restaurant (probably around 7-8pm) and it was only for coffee/cakes. Service, was ok... not as terrible as most people described it to be. But yeah, if you're into amazing service, you're probably better off doing take outs. Highly recommended for cakes!
